This is not an extensive list, just what I have done to gain added cybersecurity.
Please add More Tips in the Comments.
Brave Browser over Open Networks
To counter censorship on open networks, download Brave Browser, available to Mac OS and Android devices. Brave is like Chrome but with integrated features, making it faster. Brave gives you some security and blocks pop-ups ads, which means you no ads on YouTube!
Remove Firefox, Edge, Explorer and Chrome from your devices.
Hint* Discounts with Honey
Download Honey for discounts on VPNs and other items. Download it as an add-on to Brave and they will work in tandem whenever a discount is available.
VPNs
A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a secure tunnel between your device and the Internet. VPNs protect you from online snooping, interference, and censorship. They change your IP address to other locations so if content is blocked in Canada, you can change the VPN to USA and view the content. It`s important to reset your VPN monthly for added security.
Further Suggestions
Order a flip phone and use it for making calls. Use cell phones as computers, not as a phone. Take your cellphone battery out to avoid being tracked.
Regularly make slight name changes on Social Media
Utilize Telegram, Signal and Discord
For Serious Preppers, get a “boat” (even a row boat) and a UHF VHF license to communicate.
These strategies will buy us time and defend our right to freedom of speech, information, assemble and privacy.
