TThe Deputations by Maggie before March 2024 contain some inaccuracies to be mindful of when watching.
The Municipal Primer did not restructure local governments; it recommended a blueprint for achieving "sustainable development."
The Municipal Primer did not partner our local councils with the municipal service corporation, the Mayors with the Chief Administrative Officers (COA); that partnership existed before 1994. There has always been an incorporated aspect of the Municipality. The Council is still the Council OF the Corporation OF the CITY, the governing body OF the Municipality, and the custodians of its power. The Council alone can exercise the powers of the municipal corporation, either by bylaw or Resolution.
The Municipal Primer is "not intended to be prescriptive," meaning the Councils have a choice in implementing the FCM Programs; that is why the PCPP needs the Council's continual endorsement.
After Maggie Braun's first deputations, Shelagh MacFarlane drafted the POGG Primer, which focused on the "Public Private Partnership," the partnership between the Mayor and CAO and the Councilors' Oaths, which "have turned local Council Chambers into U.N. Field Offices."
Maggie believes the Council's endorsement of U.N. Directive programs is what has turned the Council Chambers into U.N. Field Offices.
The KICLEI initiative is not the POGG, and POGG is not KICLEI. The KICLEI initiative examines Local Councils' participation in U.N. Directive Programs and seeks to educate councils on the Program disadvantages, the associated harms of their aims, and the lack of scientific certainty within their rationale. It also seeks to provide clear and reasonable recommendations that empower Councils to rescind previous resolutions to participate in these programs.

Your articles are so much appreciated by other people who are also doing advocacy in many ways - through public speaking, delegations to local councils, writing and more!
